TEFL Internship in Buenos Aires Argentina

Teach English. Learn Spanish. Live in Argentina.

Teach Buenos Aires is a professional teach-abroad and Spanish immersion program in the heart of Buenos Aires, designed for native English speakers who want to gain meaningful international teaching experience while making a real contribution to local communities.

Through this program, participants teach English for approximately 15 hours per week while taking intensive Spanish classes for 20 hours per week. The experience combines language learning, cultural immersion, practical teaching, and community impact in one structured program.

Participants live onsite at Palacio Piedras, our historic French-style residence and school building in downtown Buenos Aires, in the San Telmo area. This makes the program practical, safe, immersive, and socially connected from day one.

A Professional Program with a Social Mission

Teach Buenos Aires is a legally recognized foundation dedicated to expanding access to English education in Argentina. We believe that English can create real opportunities for personal, academic, and professional growth, especially for students from underserved communities.

Our participants are more than visitors. They become mentors, classroom leaders, and cultural ambassadors who help students build confidence, communication skills, and access to future opportunities.

This is not an informal volunteer placement. It is a structured professional program with academic guidance, Spanish instruction, accommodation, orientation, teaching support, and a clear educational purpose.

  • 15 hours per week of English teaching experience
  • 20 hours per week of in-person Spanish classes

A Day in the Life

Your day begins at Palacio Piedras, a historic French-style building located in the absolute center of Buenos Aires. In the morning, you attend Spanish classes with experienced local instructors, improving your communication skills and preparing yourself for daily life in Argentina.

After Spanish class and lunch, your focus shifts to English teaching. Depending on your placement, you may teach onsite or travel to partner schools and educational spaces around the city. You may work with children, teenagers, or adults, helping them practice English through dynamic, communicative lessons.

At the end of the day, you return to Palacio Piedras, where you can rest, study, connect with other international participants, and enjoy life in one of Latin America’s most fascinating capital cities.
